It's time! Enrollment is now open for eligible PreK and Kindergarten students, and all other students new to Caroline County Public Schools. Please note: • If your child is currently in a Caroline PreK class, there is no need to enroll again. • If your child is currently in PreK-3, they need to be enrolled for PreK-4 at their school of residence and requalified. Attention PES Families: Our first Breakfast with Buddies event is coming soon! On Friday, March 28th, our Pre-K 3/4 to 2nd grade students can enjoy breakfast with a buddy at PES. This is a no-charge event, and it will start at 8 AM in the PES cafeteria. Participants may park in the ball field lots behind the school and enter via the car rider entrance doors. We ask that you do not block our car rider lane on this day so we can carry on with our normal entrance procedures once the event is over. Grades 3 to 5 will have their own event at a later date. We hope to see you there!

Today, PES kicked off our Kids Healthy Heart Challenge with an exciting assembly! Our students learned all about heart health and how they can help support healthy hearts for kids everywhere. Information on how to participate and fundraise—along with opportunities to earn fun prizes—has been sent home, emailed, and will be included in our newsletter. Our school is getting ready to kick off the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge (KHC)! You've been at the heart of our KHC program in the past, and we hope we can count on you again. Join today to make a difference in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Please download and register for the AHA app using the QR code below. This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Linda Blackmon! Mrs. Blackmon is our Media Specialist at PES, supporting all our grade levels! Mrs. Blackmon is in her 27th year of teaching! Mrs. Blackmon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Meredith College), a Master of Arts in Conflict Management (Trinity College), and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology (Towson University). Mrs. Blackmon is also a Dorchester County Teacher of the Year (2013-2014)! Mrs. Blackmon is a member of our SIP PBIS/CDAT Team. Mrs. Blackmon plans to continue to grow her students' love of reading and to increase my knowledge of the Computer Science Curriculum! Caroline Families, start your summer planning now with a FREE PROGRAM for rising 6th, 7th 8th and 9th graders! Summer Career Enrichment Program Session I: July 7 - July 17, 2025 Session II: July 14 - July 31, 2025 Location: Easton High School (free transportation provided) This program will engage students in hands-on activities that lead to career paths in cybersecurity, media arts, video design, health, computer science, and engineering. Classes offered will include: Animation, App Development, Careers in Healthcare, Chess, Cyber Security, Drones, Media Arts, Presentation/Graphic Design, and Robotics. Mr. Faller is a 4th and 5th grade Math teacher and a 4th grade Science and Social Studies teacher here at Preston Elementary School. Mr. Faller is in his 18th year of teaching! Mr. Faller holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Sociology and a Master's Degree in Education. Mr. Faller is a member of our SIP PBIS/CDAT Team. Mr. Faller plans to be the best, most fun teacher for all of my students and to prepare them for middle school!
