PES got to celebrate World Food Day today, 10/16/2023 🌎 World Food Day is focused on supporting local farmers, growing your own gardens, and reducing food waste. Students got a tasty apple treat from Shore Gourmet Denton Market, a yummy local apple from Blades Orchard, and learned some punny trivia with Choptank Community Health System 🍎 👩🏻‍🌾 🍏 👨🏽‍🌾 Thank you to our wonderful community partners for making this special event possible 🪴

Our first Lego club session was an exciting one!! The club read this book and got to build something they love today 😍 1st and 2nd grade students were selected by a lottery system due to such high interest. Even more will get to enjoy in a second session! Huge thank you to Mrs. Ackerson for bringing this special club to life for our younger students 🧩

Today in 5th grade science we did a super fun investigation! We used an electrical circuit the students created in class (with a battery, wires and a lightbulb,) heat lamps, a laser pointer and a magnet to determine whether or not a metal spoon, an iron nail, a popsicle stick, a plastic spoon and aluminum foil could be a conductor of heat, a conductor of electricity, a reflector or magnetic. We made predictions beforehand and some students were very amazed at what the data actually showed after the investigation! #pespantherpride
