Aiden Russell, a rising senior at Colonel Richardson High School, recently signed a Youth Apprenticeship contract with Rick Breeding, owner of Rick Breeding Excavating, Inc., in Denton, Maryland.

To finalize the apprenticeship agreement, a signing ceremony was held at Rick Breeding Excavating, Inc. Mr. Breeding, Aiden, Aiden’s mother Julie MacDonald, father Jason Russell, grandmother Jill Phelps, Caroline Superintendent Derek Simmons, Principal Jared Sherman, Counselor Jen Reed, and Coordinator of Career Readiness Eric Cook were in attendance.

Rick Breeding Excavating, Inc., is the first business associated with Caroline County Public School’s Youth Apprenticeship to sign a second agreement. The company signed an agreement with North Caroline High School senior Ryan Snyder in the fall of 2022. At the current signing, Mr. Breeding reflected that the company had a good experience with the program.

Dr. Simmons thanked Mr. Breeding for his partnership. “The program is growing as prominent businesses like this work with us,” he said. “We look forward to continued growth and support from the community.”
