Mrs. Smith's AP Chemistry students analyzed metallic elements using flame tests and spectroscopy to determine what elements are used to make various colors of fireworks! They then related the change in the energy of the electrons in the element to the wavelength and frequency of the light produced. #ColonelTOUGH

Ms. Towers' American Government students visited Tuckahoe State Park with Pickering Creek! The students had the opportunity to visualize and learn about the effect of natural forces on sediments, creating erosion issues to non-stabilized materials, as well as the effect of human interaction and development on that process. In addition, students were able to learn about invasive flora and fauna and their impact on the native plants and animals of our region, as well as the efforts to eradicate these threats. They also got to participate in getting rid of invasive species in the nearby area. #ColonelTOUGH
