Tonight is opening night of our Drama Club's production of Xanadu! Xanadu is inspired by Universal Pictures' cult classic movie that starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. Xanadu is a moving, electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches while the original, legendary chart-topping tunes lift them out of their seats.
Directed by Mr. Mike Sousa, the cast includes sophomore Lucy Pearce as Kira and senior Jasper Brady as Sonny, with junior Gray Wheatley and senior Susannah Cheezum as the meddling muse sisters. The cast is rounded out by senior Cameron Clendaniel as Danny, the part originated by Gene Kelly, senior Ivy Wroten, senior Joanna Schoonover, senior Tavi Stallings, sophomore Alyssa Bradley, freshman Violet Cheezum, and senior Abbie Bricker! #ColonelTOUGH

Art work by seniors Brian Gross and Kasey Wright was selected to be entered into the Congressional Art Competition! A winner from each congressional district will be chosen to display his or her artwork in the U.S. Capitol building for one year. #ColonelTOUGH

Congratulations to the JV baseball team for their 10-0 win over Cambridge-SD High School! Freshman Kenton Robbins, freshman Chase Thomas, and sophomore Preston Rickwood pitched for the win. Congratulations to the varsity baseball team for their 12-2 win over Snow Hill High School! Junior Brayden Dadds was the winning pitcher with 7 strikeouts. Senior Carter Walters was 3-3 with an RBI, senior Chandler Tindall was 2-3, senior Cam Gondeck was 2-3, and junior Daniel Hesson was 2-3 with 3 RBIs. #ColonelTOUGH #homegrown

Earlier this morning, NCHS and CRHS were put into a hold (students and staff in rooms/area; hallways cleared) for the purpose of conducting a canine search of random student lockers. The search was done in partnership with the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department. During the search, students remained in class and instruction continued. At no time did the canines or the search teams have interaction with students while searches were being conducted. Canine searches are part of the district's routine safety and security measures and our commitment to providing a safe learning environment for students and staff.
